MY KIND OF LONDON

Richmond is one of the most beautiful towns in London (bis)

With its theatres, open spaces, green parks and fantastic architecture, it has absolutely everything you could wish for as your "idyllic residential borough" - and by the river Thames !

Richmond's streets and picturesque alleys are packed with shops selling every kind of designer brand and luxury item as well as the more popular high street names. Especially worth exploring are the independent shops, and the Farm Markets.

Richmond has far more than the average town and there are some great finds every other month. Café culture is alive and well in Richmond, the alleyways, riverside and edges of The Green have many inviting independent cafes and restaurants serving an array of international foods.

The Riverside is well worth a visit

and Richmond Bridge is a perfect setting for watching the world go by.

No visit here would be complete without seeing the view from Richmond Hill (round the corner from where I live!).

Vistas da esquina da minha rua

It is the only "view" in the UK protected by an Act of Parliament and is truly beautiful. Take your time to stroll up there past the art galleries and shops on Hill Rise, and maybe return through Terrace Field to the riverside, seeing cows grazing on Petersham meadows – you wouldn’t know that you are in London... so please shhh !
